Following the success of last year's partnership between New Street Market and Woodbridge Festival, the collaboration returns for another night of music, art, dinning and drinks during the festival's 15th annual Summer weekend.
Last year saw acclaimed actor Ben Miles, original funk DJ Les Spaine and VJ/ Artist Girl In A T-Shirt appear with festival founder Ben Osborne. Expect more cross cultural excursions this year. Plus New Street Market will be joining the festival in Elmhurst Park the day after (Sunday 30 August) with an open air New Street bar where Geno Washington and 8-piece disco and Balearic house act, Faze Action, are headlining.
Ben Osborne’s music and cross platform arts career is immersed in grass roots creativity and included DJing clubs and festival’s internationally, writing two books on music, including his best selling Arctic Monkey’s autobiography, and being an award winning and pioneering creative producer. He DJs iconic places from Stonebridge Stage Glastonbury to BT Tower for the Olympics. Described as a ‘polymath’ by Time Out, Ben’s also presented radio shows for Xfm, NME Radio and Slack City Radio.
VJ Girl In A T-Shirt, AKA artist Alice Stallard, is a First Light Festival commissioned artist with many years delivering barrier-breaking art in both educational and community art settings. Her clients include Tate Britain, Waterloo Carnival Arts, Gate Curate and the South Bank Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre. Her recent work includes large scale, site-specific commissions for the Ackerman Studios and Daisy Green Collection. She's currently chair of Woodbridge Festival of Arts and Music.
