New Street Market is a lot of things at once — and that’s how we like it.
We’re a café serving exceptional coffee and proper food from Tuesday to Sunday. We’re a restaurant open Wednesday to Saturday evenings, with a kitchen that takes the cooking seriously. We’re a bar that stays open until 11pm. We’re a shop for people who like objects with a story. We’re a gallery, an events programme, a workshop space, and, if you time it right, a music venue as well.
We’re also properly independent. Every decision is made by us, for Woodbridge’s residents and visitors.

This year we have also been awarded funding from the Arts Council England to help deliver our incredibly diverse range of community activities, as well as the Ambition Grant from East Suffolk Council. Nice!
New Street Market was founded by Tim Wilson and Sam Walker.
Tim spent 15 years in London first running VAULT Festival, which grew from a south London railway arch into the UK’s fastest-growing arts festival — 85,000 attendees a year, hundreds of artists, and a reputation for backing work before it was famous. He then co-founded One Night Records, a 30,000 sq ft immersive music venue. He’s good at building things from nothing.
Sam is an award winning printmaker, installation artist and interior designer who has worked with blue-chip galleries, non-profit project spaces, and hundreds of artists and designers across many different disciplines. His meticulous and inspirational vision is behind everything you see at New Street Market.
