Where Olive Trees Weep" is a 2024 award winning film following, among others, Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darwish, author and trauma expert Dr Gabor Mate, grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi, and Israeli journalist Amira Hass.
The film explores themes of loss, trauma, and the quest for justice. It offers a searing window into the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people under Israeli dominance. Their universally human stories speak of inter-generational pain, trauma and resilience. This emotional journey bares the humanity of the oppressed while grappling with the question: what makes the oppressor so ruthlessly blind to its own cruelty?
Following the film there will be a short panel with commentary and Q&A.
