What says Christmas like Stanley Kubrick's ode to dreams, decadence and divorce? Set during a lonely Christmas break, EYES WIDE SHUT is littered with Douglas firs, incandescent bulbs, and other Yuletide tchotchkes. Tom Cruise, who delivers a stellar performance, plods through the NYC streets in leather gloves and a cashmere overcoat, his short breaths creating little clouds as he's haunted by Christmas fever around him and the horror of imagining his real-life wife Nicole Kidman with another man.
